Cofiwch Dryweryn
"The Remember Tryweryn Wall" is a graffitied stone wall next to the A487 road at Llanrhystud, outside Aberystwyth, Wales. The Welsh words "Cofiwch Dryweryn" were painted by journalist and author Meic Stephens, at a time of national unrest following the decision to permanently flood the village of Capel Celyn to create a reservoir for Liverpool City Council in the early 1960s.
Due to the prominent location and stark message, the wall has become an unofficial national landmark. The phrase "Cofiwch Dryweryn" has itself become a prominent political slogan for Welsh nationalism appearing on T-shirts, banners and as replica murals.
